Systematic Trading

Proprietary trading systems are used to identify market opportunities and establish positions, including the size of contracts and risk control. With a systematic approach we seek to identify a trend and position ourselves to stay invested as long as it persists. Systematic trading differs from statistical arbitrage in that each position is essentially an independent directional trade that is intended to produce a profit, not a relative position. 

Discretionary Trading

Our traders will use technical and fundamental analysis to identify potential trades. In general, this tends to be the highest risk and highest return strategy, with concentrated positions held for very short periods of time. The main difference between this strategy and systematic trading is that the investment decision is not automated. Often the system will give a trade signal, but the trader will make the final investment decision based on their experiences and other discretionary judgements.
